Dogs on a lead welcome 😊

Feel free to bring a torch and wear shoes you don’t mind getting muddy.

1st Feb 2023 (Wed) Imbolc Sunset walk at Nine Maidens stone circle

Start time: 15.45

Meeting Point: Mȇn-an-Tol Chapel parking (50.153449, -5.614977)

Duration:  2.5 hours walk gentle/moderate some off track and a hill.

Route: Head up to Nine Maidens stone circle via Men Scryfa to celebrate the sunset before walking to the Mȇn-an-Tol for a low light visit and walk home. Can be very Muddy!!

22nd Mar 2023 (Wed) Equinox Sunset walk to the Hurlers

Start time: 17.00
Meeting Point: Minions carpark (50.513574, -4.455941)

Duration: 2.5 hours walk gentle/moderate some off track and a hill.
Route: walk to the Hurlers stone circle via the Pipers, watch sunset from Rillaton barrow and learn about the connection of the Milky Way and the landscape at this special time of year.

3rd May 2023 (Wed) Beltane at Tregeseal stone circle

Start time: 19.00
Meeting Point: Boswens Carpark North Road (50.142891, -5.649608)

Duration: 2.5 hours walk gentle/moderate some off track and a hill, small section of road.
Route: walk to Tregeseal stone circle via holed stones and barrows. Visiting Portheras Barrow and Boslow Cross.

21st June 2023 (Wed) Summer solstice sunset at Craddock Moor circle

Start time: 19.30
Meeting Point: Minions carpark (50.513574, -4.455941)

Duration: 2.5 hours walk moderate some off track and a hill.
Route: walk to Craddock Moor solstice aligned circle to hopefully watch the sunset. Via the Hurlers stone circle and the Pipers. Learn about the connection of the circle with Brown Willy and the setting solstice sun.

2nd Aug 2023 (Wed) Lughnasadh sunset at Merry Maidens  

Start time: 19.30
Meeting Point: Merry Maidens parking area (50.064888, -5.590206)

Duration: 2 hour walk very gentle some off track, sections of road.
Route: walk to Merry Maidens, Pipers, Gûn Rith and Tregiffian burial chamber. If clouds allow some stargazing at end.

20th Sept 2023 (Wed) Equinox Sunset at Little Galva

Start time: 17.45

Meeting Point: Carn Galva engine house (50.171676, -5.612644)

Duration:  2.5 hours walk moderate/tricky off track in places

Route: Head up Little Galva to watch the equinox aligned sunset through the propped framing station. (sorry not suitable for young children, ground can be tough going and long trousers needed).

1st Nov 2023 (Wed) Samhain sunset at Boscawen-ûn stone circle

Start time: 16.00

Meeting Point: Boscawen-ûn parking area (50.092786, -5.622830)

Duration:  2 hour walk very gentle some off track and a hill.

Route: A walk to Boscawen-un circle to watch the Samhain sunset with its link to the quartz stone, via Creeg Tol.

20th Dec 2023 (Wed) Winter Solstice at Chûn Quoit

Start time: 14.45
Meeting Point: Boswens Carpark North Road (50.142891, -5.649608)

Duration: 2.5 hours walk moderate some off track and a hill.
Route: walk to Boswens menhir and then to Chûn Castle and Chûn Quoit to walk the sunset over Carn Kenidjack.

The tours can take you to see ancient stone circles, barrows, ancient settlements and much more.

I run walks with bookings through Airbnb experiences, click on the links below and you will be able to read lots of positive reviews of the walks. These are limited to 6 people to keep the group small and more personal.

Walking Tour example 1

A trip to Tregeseal

This is a half-day off-road circular walk. Visiting a number of ancient sites along the way, we shall make our way across Truthwall common to reach Tregeseal stone circle. Here Carolyn will tell you all about how this stone circle relates to the night sky. There are wonderful views along this walk of the Penwith peninsula. The walk takes between 2- 2.5 hours and is along rough trackways so sturdy shoes are required.

Walking Tour example 2

The northern moors and the moon

Visiting not one but two stone circle sites, this walk will take you on a trip around the northern moors near Carn Galver. Stops will include Nine Maidens and Men-an-Tol once more Carolyn will be on hand to show you how the ancients related these sites to the night sky. This is a half-day tour taking 2-3 hours completely off-road it will require the walker to wear sturdy shoes.

Bodmin Moor Tours

Tours of Bodmin moor to explore the ancient sites.

Head out onto the moors for a full day exploring the landscape, and visiting ancient sites. Examples of tours include The Hurlers and Craddock Moor circles and rows. The ancient landscape around Rough Tor. A full day tour is £180

You will be able to learn about the archaeology of the area and the connectivity to the night sky where Harry builds your photography skills. This is a wonderful opportunity to either start a new hobby or brush up on your existing skills all while learning about the night sky, prehistoric landscape in the amazing dark sky reserve of Bodmin Moor. We can offer residential or non-residential. You get a full days of expert tuition all for £200
